Motivation is a process in which an individual’s efforts are energized, directed, and sustained towards attaining a goal. Employees are the backbone of an organization. Furthermore, to achieve organizational goals, it’s the key step to encourage the employees. A motivated person should put forth the effort and work hard. Employee motivation is key to success.

Meanwhile, high levels of effort don’t lead to favorable job performance unless the effort is channeled in a direction that benefits the organization. Motivating high employee performance is a crucial organizational concern.

Early Theories of Motivation

How to encourage employees is really important and it is explained in early theories. Furthermore, Try to encourage more employees to satisfy them and build a strong relationship with co-workers.

Firstly, In Maslow’s Hierarchy, a hierarchy of five needs (physiological, safety, social, self-esteem, and self-actualization).

Secondly, Theory X leaders believe people don’t like to work or won’t seek out responsibility, so they threatened to work. Moreover,a Theory Y manager assumes people like to work and seek responsibility, so they will exercise self- motivation and self-direction.

Thirdly, Herzberg’s theory proposed that intrinsic factors associated with job satisfaction were what motivated people. Extrinsic factors associated with job dissatisfaction simply keep people from being dissatisfied.

Lastly, the Three- needs theory proposed three acquired needs that are major motives in work; the need for achievement, the need for affiliation, and the need for power.

In addition, these theories are an easy way to encourage your employees and build satisfaction level.

Ways To Motivate Productivity

However, most employees feel demotivated because of their leaders and aggressive bosses who never cooperate with their employees. This sort of behavior decreases productivity and increases turnover rate which is harmful for an organization. Through some factors, you’ll know how to encourage employees.

However, in some ways through which we can encourage employees and increase productivity, performing some deeds can increase an organization’s productivity.

  2. Appreciate co-workers for their better performance.
  3. Promotion potential and excellent benefits.
  4. Call motivational speakers in organization for employees.
  5. Try to remove conflicts among employees with dignity.
  6. Favoritism restricted among organizations.
  7. no blood relation hired in the same workplace.
  8. Communicate honestly and frequently with each employee to stay up-to-date with their concerns.
  9. Give them chance to improve their knowledge and skills.
  10. Build discipline and a friendly environment in the organization.

It is the responsibility of a leader. In addition, these points should sustain the healthy and cooperative environment of the organization to encourage your workers at every step.

However, being a good leader is not an easy task but a responsible leader can make an organization improves the success of a workplace.

Difficulties Faced By Leaders When Motivating

Leaders must cope with three motivational issues: managing cross-cultural challenges, motivating a unique group of workers, and designing appropriate rewards programs. The desire for interesting work and supportive leaders seems important for all workers.

Therefore, Recognition programs, sincere appreciation for work done would in turn motivate low-skilled, minimum-wage workers. Most importantly, workers feel de-motivation due to inequity, as a result, procedural justice has a great influence on employee satisfaction.

Researcher says, most people commit suicide after getting scolded by their bosses or being de-motivated with their work or workplace.
