There is no official GTA 6 PC release date yet. As of 15 October 2026, Rockstar Games and its owner Take-Two Interactive list Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, launching on 19 November 2026. A GamesBeat report from 13 October, citing four unnamed industry sources, says the PC version is planned for January to March 2027. Treat that as a credible report, not an announcement.
Has Rockstar confirmed GTA 6 for PC?
No, and the company’s own paperwork shows it. The official Grand Theft Auto VI page shows the 19 November date, the two consoles and a pre-order button. PC isn’t mentioned anywhere on it.
Take-Two’s filing agrees. Its results for the quarter to 30 June 2026, published on 7 August 2026, list the game for “PS5, Xbox Series X|S” in the release table. Chief executive Strauss Zelnick spoke of “excitement around the November 19th launch” and kept the company’s sales forecast for the year at $8.0 to $8.2 billion. That table does list PC for other titles, such as NBA 2K27, which is why we read the gap for GTA 6 as deliberate rather than a formatting quirk.
| GTA 6 at a glance | Status on 15 October 2026 | |
|---|---|---|
| Console launch | 19 November 2026, PS5 and Xbox Series X\ | S (official) |
| PC version | Not announced by Rockstar or Take-Two | |
| Reported PC window | January to March 2027 (GamesBeat, four unnamed sources) | |
| Official PC system requirements | None published | |
| Streaming to PC at launch | No, according to Xbox’s chief strategy officer |
Even the console date has already moved twice. The game was first due in fall 2025, then slipped to 26 May 2026, and in November 2025 Rockstar pushed it to 19 November 2026, saying the extra months would let it finish the game “with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve”.
What do the GTA 6 PC release date reports say?
The strongest claim so far comes from GamesBeat, which reported on 13 October 2026 that Rockstar plans to release it on PC “within the first three months of 2027”. Its four industry sources requested anonymity, and Rockstar did not respond to a request for comment. The same report adds a condition: the PC build has to meet the console version’s quality bar before it ships.
Two older claims are still circulating, and both are weaker:
- “Early ’26 for PC”: a Corsair investor relations executive said this on an earnings call, as Dexerto reported in February 2025. The console game was then still due in fall 2025, so that prediction has aged badly.
- February 2027: an X account called Detective Seeds cited three former Rockstar employees in April 2026. Beebom noted that the account attached no evidence.
In our view, the GamesBeat window deserves the most weight: it comes from a named outlet, it rests on several sources, and the February 2027 claim sits inside its window rather than contradicting it. Still, this game has slipped twice already, so we wouldn’t plan a purchase around that window until Rockstar posts a date.

Rockstar’s big PC ports have taken a year or more
Rockstar’s two previous blockbusters each reached PC long after their console launch, which makes the reported GTA 6 window look unusually quick.

If GamesBeat is right, that would be a sharp break from Rockstar’s habit. Even GTA V’s PC port slipped: it was meant to arrive with the November 2014 PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release and was held back for “polish”, much like GTA 6 itself. Launch dates for both older games are from the GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 entries on Wikipedia.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC date came at short notice. Rockstar revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 was coming to PC on November 5th on 4 October 2019, about a month ahead. With an early-2027 window, an official GTA 6 date could likewise land with only a few weeks’ warning.
Can you stream GTA 6 to a PC instead?
Not at launch. On 6 October, The Verge reported that Xbox had won exclusive streaming rights for the game on Xbox Cloud Gaming, as Insider Gaming summarised. A day later, Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball wrote on X: “the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC.”
If you’re in Pakistan, there’s a second problem. We couldn’t confirm on Microsoft’s official regions page that Xbox Cloud Gaming is offered here, so we wouldn’t count on streaming as a route, at launch or later. Cloud gaming runs the game on remote servers and streams the picture to you; our explainer on how Amazon built its cloud computing business covers how such server farms work.
What are the GTA 6 PC requirements?
Nobody outside Rockstar knows, because no official system requirements exist yet. Any spec list you see online is a guess. The closest guide is what Rockstar asks for on two of its big open-world games on PC, both listed on Steam by Rockstar Games.
| Past Rockstar PC game | Minimum graphics card | Recommended graphics card | RAM (min / rec) | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Red Dead Redemption 2 (2019) | GTX 770 2GB or Radeon R9 280 | GTX 1060 6GB or Radeon RX 480 | 8 GB / 12 GB | 150 GB |
| GTA V Enhanced (March 2025) | GTX 1630 (4GB) or Radeon RX 6400 | RTX 3060 (8GB) or Radeon RX 6600XT | 8 GB / 16 GB | 105 GB, SSD required |
Figures are from the Steam listings for Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA V Enhanced. The newer of the two already requires a solid-state drive, and its recommended setup runs on Windows 11. We’d be surprised if a game built for current consoles asked for less, but these are past benchmarks and nothing more.
So don’t upgrade a PC for this game until Rockstar publishes its list. And since no PC version exists, any website offering a GTA 6 PC download today is not genuine; at best it wastes your time, and at worst it carries malware.
Should you buy a console or wait for the PC version?
That comes down to two things: how badly you want to play in November, and what you already own.
- You want to play in November and avoid spoilers: a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series console is the only official way. Rockstar’s page labels PlayStation 5 the console it “plays best on”, a marketing line we can’t verify.
- You already own a capable gaming PC: waiting is reasonable. If the report holds, the gap is months, not the year or more PC players waited for Rockstar’s previous two games.
- Your PC is old or has no dedicated graphics card: do not spend on upgrades yet. Wait for Rockstar’s official specs, then compare the cost with a console.
- You mainly want online play: wait in any case. According to the GamesBeat report, no date has been announced for GTA 6’s online mode on any platform.
If you buy a console, check that you can buy games digitally from your account’s region before you rely on the digital edition.
Frequently asked questions
Will GTA 6 come to PC at all?
Probably, though nothing is official. Rockstar’s last two major games, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, both reached PC after consoles, and Rockstar has given no sign that GTA 6 will break that pattern.
Can I pre-order the GTA 6 PC version?
No. The pre-order button on Rockstar’s official page covers the console versions only, including the Ultimate Edition and the Vintage Vice City Pack bonus.
Is the GTA 6 PC release date the same as the console date?
No. The 19 November 2026 date covers PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. A PC date would come in a separate Rockstar announcement, and none had been made by 15 October 2026.
Has GTA 6 been delayed again?
Not as of 15 October 2026. Take-Two repeated the 19 November date in its August 2026 results, and Rockstar’s official page still shows it.
Will GTA 6 run on a laptop?
No one knows yet. GTA V Enhanced, its March 2025 PC release, needs at least a GTX 1630 or Radeon RX 6400 with 4GB of video memory and an SSD, so a laptop without a dedicated graphics card is unlikely to cope.
What we do not know yet
Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version, a date, system requirements, or whether the PC launch will include online play. We also could not confirm Xbox Cloud Gaming’s availability in Pakistan or find dated rupee prices for the game or consoles from an official seller, so we left prices out. We will update this page with the GTA 6 PC release date as soon as Rockstar posts it.
