Pursuing Writing in Time of Pandemic

It won’t be an understatement to say that COVID-19 has turned the entire world upside down. Many people lived from hand to mouth. But along with that, it proved to be a beacon of light for persons like me. This period of lockdown urged me to think outside the box- to be innovative. All I had to do is to tap into my inner self. Find and polish my hidden skills and look for a way to monetize it.

Turning Moment of My Life

From the very beginning of this year, I was looking for a job. Then, Covid came into our lives. This totally changed my life’s perspective. I came to realize there are many other ways to earn instead of being a part of the 9 to 5 rat race.

I still remember the evening of one of the hottest days of July. My friend called me to inform me about her plan to attempt CSS exams. Also, how she is looking for opportunities to test her writing skills. She asked for my support and I said: “You will always find me by your side.”

The very next day she sent me a message regarding an article writing competition. And insisted me to take part along with her. That competition was the turning point of my life.

Unexpected Success in Writing

Honestly, this was the first time I wrote. One week after the article submission, my friend called me and said: “Have you checked the results?” and I said: “Not yet.”

She added: “Congratulations! You stood third in that article writing competition.” And I was astonished. At that time, I didn’t even have words to express my happiness. For all my life, I have always been a bookworm. My only goal was to score good grades to get a quality job.

But that day I realized; despite working day in-day out, I can do much more with my life. I made my mind to accomplish something. If I can’t get a job because of Covid, it doesn’t mean I am incompetent. I just have to look for other enchanting opportunities. I worked hard to enhance my writing skills and decided to start my career as a freelance content writer.

My First Dollar

In August, I finally took a head start by making an account on Fiverr and Truelancer. I learned how to place bids effectively by doing a short freelancing course. And finally, I got my first project and made my first dollar online.

For many of us, making a dollar online doesn’t seem like a big win. But to me and millions of people out there, starting new blogs, the idea of earning that first buck is a hot-wired topic.

I can never forget the amazing feeling of earning my first dollar online and how it changed my life forever.

Time for change

There is a dire need to change the awfully traditional job mindset of our society. We have to look up to various alternative ways to earn via online platforms. Because even in the time of the economic setbacks, digital platforms stood their ground.

If you can’t get a job, it doesn’t mean you are useless. Maybe Allah has planned something else for you. Give freelancing or online business, a chance. Don’t waste yourself, don’t work like a robot from 9 to 5. Enjoy the freedom which comes in handy with freelancing. Work by your own rules. All you need is to make 1 dollar, magnificent future is ahead of you. That sensation of achievement will push you forward towards your goal.
